PetEntry is an independent, informational reference site for pet travel rules. We are not a government agency, not a pet relocation company, and we do not sell anything.
In one paragraph: we do not collect personal data, we do not use tracking cookies, we show no advertising, we have no affiliate links, and we never sell or share your information. The only data we hold comes from standard server logs kept by the hosting provider for security and stability.
We collect no personal information through forms, accounts, or sign-ups — the site has none.
The only data generated when you visit is what the web server records in its standard access logs:
These logs are retained by the hosting provider and are never used to build a profile of you, never matched across visits, and never shared with advertisers.
Aggregated, anonymous log data helps us answer three practical questions:
• Which destinations and routes people actually search for (so we keep those pages accurate)
• Whether any pages are broken or slow (so we fix them)
• Whether the site is under attack (so we can block abusive traffic)
We do not use this data for advertising, remarketing, or any commercial purpose.
We do not set any cookies ourselves. The site has no analytics scripts, no advertising tags, and no tracking pixels.
One technical exception: the site loads its fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests a font file from Google's servers, Google may record that request (including your IP address) and may set a cookie on Google's own domain. This is a standard behaviour of the Google Fonts service and is outside our control. You can avoid it by blocking fonts.googleapis.com in your browser.
Links to rule sources go to official government websites (e.g. USDA APHIS, CDC, European Commission). Those sites set their own cookies and have their own privacy policies, which we recommend you review if you visit them.
We use or link to the following third parties. We do not receive any data back from them:
Server logs are automatically rotated and deleted by the hosting provider (typically within a few weeks). Error reports submitted through the "Report an error" button are stored as plain text without your name, and are deleted once the reported issue is fixed.
The site is served over HTTPS (TLS encryption), which protects the content of your connection from interception. We keep software and dependencies updated to minimise security risks.
If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK, data protection law (GDPR / UK GDPR) gives you rights over personal data relating to you. Because we collect almost none, the practical application is simple, but the rights still apply:
• Access — ask what data we hold about you
• Deletion — ask us to erase any data we hold
• Objection — ask us to stop processing your data
• Complaint — contact your local data protection authority
To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
PetEntry is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from them. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through our error-report form, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this policy when the site's functionality or the law changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced on the homepage.
